Immediately after this appearance, due to a trucker's strike, Schulman and Brad Linaweaver got on a red-eye flight to Boston, to personally pick up the entire press run of the book, and drive them back to California. Brad Linaweaver tells that story in his afterword to Self Control Not Gun Control.
